Terms and Conditions

This agreement is made between Rev. Matthew Sweeting, doing business as Island Preacha Weddings, and “The Clients”

whose names and signatures appear below.

The agreement is governed by Laws of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

SERVICES

You have requested a custom wedding ceremony from Island Preacha Weddings. We  agree to develop and officiate a memorable, personalized ceremony and blessing on the date and time stipulated on your Registration Form.

If you select a LEGAL WEDDING, my team and I will also assist in obtaining your marriage license, accompany you to the Registrar’s Office for an interview, obtain the Marriage Certificate following the wedding, and have it certified by Apostille for your country of residence.

If you select a LEGAL WEDDING WITH COUNSELING, in addition to legal wedding services stipulated above, I will facilitate four pre marriage counseling sessions, including a personalized assessment and roadmap to marital success.

DEPOSIT AND CONSENT FORM

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve our services. The deposit covers administrative services, consultations, licensure, and development of your ceremony.

We also require a signed Consent Form specifying your desired ceremony, agreeing to terms of payment, and consenting to participation in the process of developing your ceremony.

GUARANTEED CEREMONY RESERVATION

Once you have selected your package and signed the Consent Form, and we have received the non-refundable 50% deposit, the date and time of your ceremony are guaranteed.

BALANCE PAYMENT

Your balance is due in full 30 days prior to the ceremony. The rate covers our time, including early arrival thirty minutes prior to the wedding, plus celebrant services for the duration of the ceremony.

Early payment has worked well for our clients, most of whom have well-planned destination weddings. These payment terms eliminate the stress of last minute banking, allowing the couples to enjoy their celebrations and their time in this country.

ADDITIONAL COSTS

Certain charges fall outside scope of our wedding packages, including Rehearsals, Site Meetings, Travel Expenses, and Per Diems. Any additional costs are due in full by the day of the wedding.

REHEARSALS

While Rehearsals provide peace of mind, they can be challenging when a group is juggling varying flight arrival times.

We strongly recommend booking your Rehearsal date and time in advance to guarantee our availability. It is not uncommon for us to have multiple weddings in the same week.

During Rehearsal, we direct the flow of your ceremony. We do not disclose specific elements, or provide our blessings in advance to you or your Wedding Planner.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

In case of an accident, illness, or circumstances beyond our control that prevent me from providing my services, I will arrange the services of another trusted substitute Officiant.

If we cannot offer services and you do not wish to retain a qualified alternate Celebrant, I will return your funds in full within 14 days via the payment method you used for purchase.

If, for reasonable cause, you need to reschedule the wedding, we will make every effort to accommodate you.

If, however, you cancel the wedding or no longer require our services, our charges are  non-refundable.

FORCE MAJEURE

Island Preacha Weddings shall not be liable for damages caused by conditions beyond our control including, but not limited to, acts of God (such as natural disasters), adverse weather conditions, equipment failure, unforeseen events that inhibit or otherwise inhibit or affect performance, fire, government restrictions, wars, insurrections, and/or any other cause beyond reasonable control.

The undersigned Clients agree to hold Island Preacha Weddings, its employees, and subcontractors, harmless from all liabilities, claims, damages, and expenses relating to services arising out of this agreement.

LEGAL MARRIAGE DOCUMENTS

You will receive your Bahamian Marriage Certificate with Apostille within 14 days of the wedding. Our Legal Wedding Package includes one (1) Bahamian Marriage Certificate with Apostille.

The Apostille process was established by signatories of the 1961 Hague Convention. The process recognizes the validity of official government  signatories on your Marriage Certificate, so you can file them in your own country.

Unless otherwise stipulated, we will obtain an Apostille for the country in which you are currently resident.

Official documents are shipped via courier to the postal address you specify at registration.

ADDITIONAL CERTIFIED MARRIAGE DOCUMENTS

You may order another Certificate with Apostille, specifying the country in which the document will be used.

Government charges for each additional Certificate with Apostille is $240.

To eliminate extra administrative and courier charges, please order additional copies at registration, and we will consolidate your documents.

CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We reserve the right to make changes to our Terms and Conditions at any time. Please review our terms before booking your ceremony.

Notwithstanding the above, we will honor the Terms and Conditions outlined on your signed Consent Form.
